From mid-December, 1999, until Easter, 2000, I went on a round-the-world trip.

I did it mainly because I was already planning on being with my parents and youngest sister for Christmas in Zambia, so decided that since I was spending all that time and money anyway, I might as well make the most of it and take the scenic route "home". I say "home" because another goal of the trip was to find somewhere other than Toronto, my home at the time, to live. I've (temporarily...) settled on Vancouver.

As a fringe benefit, since I stuck mainly to the southern hemisphere (with the chilly exception of Japan in January), I also managed to skip most of the Canadian winter.

While travelling I took hundreds of photographs and wrote several travelogue emails from the road to family and friends. For each of the countries that I went to (except Hong Kong and Singapore, which I visited only briefly) I've assembled a slide-show for the Web. I've also put up my unedited travelogues with embedded links to the slide-shows. Click on a link below for more.
